BankIslami Pakistan Limited has officially welcomed Imran Haleem Shaikh as its new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Stepping into his new three-year term, Shaikh brings a wealth of leadership experience to the institution as it embarks on a fresh chapter of corporate growth and strategic expansion.

Professional Background and Experience

Shaikh is a seasoned financial sector veteran with an impressive career spanning over two decades. Prior to taking the helm at BankIslami, he served as the bank's Deputy Chief Executive Officer starting in January 2024. Before joining BankIslami, Shaikh spent more than 13 years at JS Bank, where he held critical executive roles, including Chief Operating Officer (COO) and head of key strategic initiatives, notably playing a pivotal role in the launch and success of their digital banking platform, Zindigi. His extensive background covers retail banking, marketing, brand management, and cutting-edge financial technology integration.

Strategic Vision for BankIslami

Taking over leadership from former CEO Rizwan Ata, Shaikh assumes control at a time when the Islamic banking sector in Pakistan is experiencing rapid transformation and rising demand for digital-first financial services. Industry analysts expect his appointment to accelerate BankIslami's focus on digital transformation, service quality enhancements, and market penetration. The bank's leadership and board have expressed strong confidence that his operational expertise will steer the institution toward sustainable growth.

Strengthening Islamic Finance

As BankIslami continues to consolidate its position as one of the premier Islamic commercial banks in the country, the management aims to leverage modern technological solutions alongside Shariah-compliant financial products. Under Shaikh’s guidance, the bank is poised to enhance its customer experience, expand its footprint across commercial and consumer banking segments, and reinforce its commitment to delivering ethical, robust banking services nationwide.
